Lake Whakamarino Lodge is located in the quaint village of Tuai (correct spelling - Tuwai) - the gateway to Lake Waikaremoana and at the entrance of Te Urewera, one of New Zealand's "Great Walks"
Lake Whakamarino Lodge is owned and operated by tangata whenua (home people connected to the lands of Waikaremoana).
Lake Whakamarino Lodge consists of 5 separate lodges nestled amongst mature trees and all just a "stone's throw away" from the picturesque Lake Whakamarino.
We can cater for any type of traveller, from backpackers and fishermen to large or small family/walking groups.
Lake Whakamarino Lodge was built in the 1920′s and once housed the workers brought in to the area to build the hydro dams.
